Masala Mama May: Eva, Katerina, Alison, Stefanie

#MasalaMamaMay continues this week with four more amazing mamas! From India to California, meet the women who inspire us!

Katerina, mother to three year old baby Shannon, has tapped into using social media as a tool for helping other mamas in need of support and guidance. We can’t get over how precious these two are! @oneupbaby

One word to describe your kid

One word your kids would use to describe you.
“No Limits” Mommy

How would you define your strength, your power?
My secret power is to wear different hats at the same time. Some know me as a Parenting Blogger Oneupbaby, some as Shannon’s Mom, some as Head of Analytics at a major NBFC. My strength is that I know where to find energy to handle all of this, and with a smile on my face. My strength that I found how to feel happy, and able to teach people to be happy too.

Best parenting lesson you’ve learned from your mom?
My mom allowed me to try myself in different passions – dance, music, athletics. And at some point she stepped back and allowed me to choose. I chose dance, and it was my main activity until college.

What do you like to do when you need some “ME” time?
Read in the garden

What is your passion?
Coach and advise others. I really enjoy Instagram as a channel to directly answer the queries of young moms. I also love my online programs for Happiness, Baby Sleep and Dream Relationships – we run it every month and this is my chance to improve lives of other fellow mothers.

Favorite place you’ve traveled to? What about it did you love?
Any beach vacation away from resorts. Bahamas comes to mind, Cuba too. Somewhere to roam around yet enjoy ocean, diving, boating. Not just sitting on the beach.

A little fun fact about yourself
I have to start my day with the right foot down. I mean literally, when I get out of bed, I have to step the right foot first. This is my only OCD-like behavior I promise. The rest of the day I am pretty normal

Next up is Stefanie, mother to one year old Marina. You may have seen her one-of-a-kind style on instagram, @thestylesafari – where she shares fashionable and stylish content with an environmentally responsible focus.

One word to describe your kids. One word you kids would use to describe you:
Marina is a Social Butterfly, Marina can’t speak yet but I would say she thinks I’m hilarious 😉

Best parenting lesson you’ve learned from your mom?
Travel is the best education!

What do you like to do when you need some “ME” time?
Yikes, hate to admit this but I really love mornings alone with a matcha latte and my computer, preferably at a cafe. My favorite ‘me’ time is when I am able to get inspired and have quiet time to think and dream up my next project! I used to love flying alone with a fashion magazine and my sketch book with no internet!

Fun fact about yourself.  Pick one if you can!
I learned to sew clothing when I was 9 and haven’t stopped since!

Your Spirit Animal?
Definitely some kind of cat. I am independent and love to have my back scratched 😉

What’s your secret mom talent?
Multi-tasking and efficiency. When I am in ‘work’ mode I am typically doing 2-3 things at once to make ‘mom’ mode much more focused on my daughter! I don’t want to miss out on anything so I have devised tons of hacks to work smarter, not harder.

(the heart eyes, sleepy, flex muscle strong) 😍 💪 😴

There’s a reason why we worked with Eva on a mommy and me capsule collection. Actress, blogger, and mama of two (Marlowe, 4, and Major, 2), @thehappilyeva is an inspiration! ⁣⁣Living life to the fullest and sharing her journey along the way from parenting to relationships, Eva’s community brings women and mothers together, providing support that makes us women stronger.⁣

One word to describe your kids. One word your kids would use to describe you.
Goofballs. Silly.

How would you define your strength, your power?
I think my strength comes from a really solid knowledge of myself– both my strengths and weaknesses, and owning all the parts of myself good and bad.  It took me a long time to come face to face with the whole picture of what has made me who I am, and to process the not so easy parts.  But now that I have, I feel invincible!

Best parenting lesson you’ve learned from your mom?
It’s ok to go on adventures with your kids and for them to see you doing what you love.

What do you like to do when you need some “ME” time?
I love learning, pampering, and girl time. So my ideal day would be a massage and a manicure, followed by a cool exhibit at a museum and dinner with my girlfriends!

What is your passion?
Living life honestly and with adventure.

You’re currently inspired by: Spain! My husband and I went to Mallorca last fall and it really made me think about bringing the kids back for an extended visit.

Favorite place you’ve traveled to?  What about it did you love?
My favorite place ever was Bali. It feels like a different world, and the energy there is so spiritual and beautiful. We almost moved there permanently as a family when I was in High School.  We didn’t end up doing it, but I dream about bringing my kids there one day.

A little fun fact about yourself.
I speak four languages!

Your Spirit Animal:
My daughter Marlowe. I want to be her when I grow up.

What’s your secret mom talent?
Making my kids laugh when they’re crying.  Laughter is the best medicine
